Making the book Bigger

Some of the Collographs and items added to the book. It is starting to become interactive and definatly more colourful. I would deffinatly experiment more with colour in the future and back in silkscreen.

Collograph

Started on Collographs this week. started thinking all about textures I could add into the book. As you can see I tried not to make it too formal as the book was starting to look to precious.

How to bind a book

The only knowledge I have to put a book together is to sew it. You can turn the pages and it closes. that to me is a functioning book.

Franguin, Crowla and Mambi

Using the Mrpvc paper I was able to add in the writing and small details... Staring to look like a book already.

Started Silkscreen!

Looking at these weird animals and the size I drew them I didn't see it relevant to just print them and display them as is.... they started to remind me of those old nature books used to look up plants and see the Latin names and small details of them... So I started to silkscreen them onto the pages to give room for this writing. Also my arms are getting some work out in silkscreen.

People are strange

Not gonna argue when people want to be made into strange animals.

Finally made up my mind

I will not bore you with the details but my idea has changed about 10 times but I think I'm finally happy. I knew I wanted this project to be lighthearted but found it hard to draw myself away from sterotyping and branding people which can become too serious. My idea came from something I used to pass time doing with a friend back in school.... Comparing people to animals... It may seem cruel but we all look like certain animals. This is the first of the creatures I have made. There will be more to follow with the help of some volunteers.

Notions of Identity

This is my first reaction to Notions of Identity brief. I want to take stereotypes that people have for each other and for themselves and display it in passport or I.D card form.
